Tranmere Rovers U18s recored their second consecutive win this weekend with a 3-1 away win against Notts County in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.
Managed by Alan Morgan, The young Rovers side started the game on the front foot and went ahead courtesy of a spectacular 30 yard lob from Michael Quinn.
The hosts equalised in the first half but Rovers regained the advantage thanks to a bizarre goal in blustery conditions. Louis Shead played a long ball over the top of the Notts County defence and then, ultimately thanks to the wind, over the goalkeeper too. Striker Jamie Timlin was there to tap the ball into an empty net for Rovers.
With two minutes left on the clock, a trialist for Tranmere put the game to bed. He was played through one on one and slotted past the keeper to ensure victory in Nottinghamshire.
Rovers will be hoping to continue this good run of form as they face an away game at Blackpool on Saturday.
