Update to season ticket holders
We would like to thank all of the supporters who have supported the Club by buying a season ticket for the current season. In doing this you have provided a much-needed cash boost to the Club at a time when the vast majority of our revenue streams have now been stopped for eight months, but your support has also been a hugely important symbol of solidarity with everyone whose livelihoods or wellbeing depend on the Club.
As season ticket holders you are entitled to a free iFollow pass and free electronic programme for each home league match, but, perhaps more importantly, you have secured priority access to the stadium for when crowds are permitted to return and secured your chosen seat number for once crowd attendance returns to normal.
It is likely that when crowds return it will, at least for a period, be in restricted numbers. We have stated previously that when this happens, season ticket holders will be given priority access to the stadium.
In the event that there are more season ticket holders wanting to attend than we have seats available, we will hold a ballot. Any season ticket holder missing out in the ballot for a match will automatically get further priority for the next game. Whilst not perfect, this is what we feel, after consultation with the supporters’ groups, is the fairest way to proceed.
However, we are conscious that many of you bought your season tickets at a time where we were all cautiously optimistic that crowds would be back in October, and it is now clear that is not the case, so we felt it was right to offer some options for season ticket holders who wish to preserve their season ticket benefits, but receive some form of compensation for the difference in the cash value of what we are currently able to deliver, and what you have paid for.
The table below shows what standard adult season ticket holders have paid per game, and what the cash value is of what is currently being delivered (iFollow pass worth £10 and electronic programme worth £2, or physical programme worth £3.50 for hospitality lounges).
In the case of most of the concessionary ticket prices, there is no shortfall in the monetary value being delivered (because iFollow does not offer concessionary prices) but the Club will be able to confirm to those holding season tickets for those categories.
The basic principle is that if you are unable to come to the match in person and are paying more than £12 per match for your season ticket, we will offer you the options set out below for any shortfall, for each game where you cannot attend:
|
Price paid per game |
Cash value delivered per game |

(£5.22) |

(£27.54) |
We are also conscious that this is an uncertain time for many of you in terms of work and furlough. Coupled with the fact that the situation with regard to when crowds may be able to return is changing so quickly, we have decided to divide the season into three parts, so that you can choose one of the options below now, but choose a different option for later parts of the season if you so wish.
We hope this gives supporters flexibility in case their circumstances change during the course of the next few months. The first period covers the time between the start of the season and 26th December 2020. For lounge holders, this shortfall also covers the additional round 1 cup games you would have ordinarily received as part of your season card price.
The Options:
Option 1 – Retain season ticket, no refund of the shortfall
This is the option that helps the Club the most financially. You will retain all of the season ticket holder benefits listed above, but will also earn our eternal gratitude for your generosity!
Option 2 – Retain season ticket, shortfall to be donated to the Club be used for specific Prenton Park projects to improve the match-day experience
You may have seen recently some of the great work done to improve the Johnny King stand. We were hoping to be able to make similar improvements to other areas of the ground, and donating your money to this fund would enable that to go ahead in the period between now and when the stadium can reopen.
Option 3 – Request the shortfall to be credited as a gift voucher
If you request this option you will be issued with gift vouchers for the value of the shortfall, which can be spent at Tranmere either in the shop (ready for Christmas!), in buying future tickets, upgrading standard tickets to hospitality lounge tickets in the future, or buying food and drink from the kiosks.
Option 4 – For Ian Muir Lounge Only
To date, Ian Muir Lounge season ticket holders have been entitled to be credited with a voucher for a free pint of beer (or other drink) for each home match you have been unable to attend. You may opt to continue with this arrangement if you want, or choose one of the options above.
Whichever option you choose, the Club will as a gesture of goodwill guarantee to all hospitality lounge season ticket holders that there will be a price freeze for next season, even if we are promoted.
Option 5 – For Ray Mathias Lounge Only
To date, Ray Mathias Lounge season ticket holders have been entitled to be credited with a voucher for either a guest Ray Mathias Lounge dining upgrade (enabling a guest to upgrade from a standard match ticket to a Ray Mathias Lounge ticket), or for £20 off the cost of a Ray Mathias Lounge guest ticket, to be used once crowds are permitted to return and hospitality can be offered as normal.
You can opt to continue with this if you want, or opt for any of the other options set out above. Whichever option you choose, the Club will as a gesture of goodwill guarantee to all hospitality lounge season ticket holders that there will be a price freeze for next season, even if we are promoted.
For now, we are asking season ticket holders to indicate to us if they would like to take any of these options for the period between now and 26th December. If we hear nothing, we will assume that Option 1 is chosen. At the start of December, we will set out the options available for the second period. We expect these to be broadly the same as above but we will keep it under review based on feedback.
To request one of the options above, please follow this link and complete the form.
