Tranmere Rovers in the Community have donated thousands of essential hygiene products to local women’s charity Tomorrow’s Women.
As part of a funded essentials project by Wirral Council, TRIC were allocated funds to provide essential items for women. This meant Tranmere Rovers were able to donate thousands of items to Wirral charity, Tomorrow’s Women, ‘Femme-2-You’ female delivery service.
The ‘Femme-2-You’ delivery service was set up in April in order to support vulnerable women in the local area by delivering parcels made up of essential women’s hygiene items straight to their door step.
Tranmere Rovers in the Community have previously supported this project with a donation of items upon the initial release and are proud to be able to support the cause even further.
TRIC Development Manager, Emma Palios, said: “We are proud to help support the fantastic work that TWW are doing during this pandemic to ensure women have access to basic and essential hygiene and sanitary items that may sometimes be overlooked in emergency parcels.
"This is a continuation of our dedication to help the most vulnerable in our community as part of TRFC's wider covid-19 response programme“
Upon receiving the donation, Tomorrow’s Women Communications Officer Sharna Kennedy said: “It is always a pleasure to work with Tranmere Rovers in the Community who offer continued support to our work with women and in receiving this overwhelming contribution to our crucial Femme 2 You project (a project that has supported over 600 women so far!)
"We will be able to continue to tackle period poverty head on with and most importantly make women of Wirral feel supported and not alone during these continually difficult times, both financially and socially.“
