Feeney: The project at Tranmere excited me

17 September 2020

Liam Feeney admitted the exciting project ahead at Tranmere Rovers was a key reason why he opted to join the Club on a season long loan from Blackpool.

The experienced wide man, who recorded the highest number of assists across all three EFL leagues last season, has linked up with his new team mates this morning ahead of our first home league game of the campaign against Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of training on Thursday morning, Feeney said: "Tranmere is a great club. The ambition to try and win promotion, the football club did not deserve to drop down a league last season, so I want to play a part in helping Tranmere get back to where they belong.

"I want to be part of the project and I want to be a part of something successful. I have made the right choice.

"I pride myself on making chances for my team mates, and hopefully I can lend a hand and we can have a successful season.

"I can't wait, everyone has been in the same position with a lack of football but I have been training hard. I am glad to have a fresh start at Tranmere and I can't wait to get going.

"Football seems to have a way and you always come across a couple of lads in each changing room that you know and I have played with Jay Spearing at three clubs now including Tranmere. It always helps to know some familiar faces of course but all of the lads have been really welcoming.

"It is always important to understand and get a feel for the place which I have. I know exactly what the gaffer expects from me and the team."

Liam is now available to sponsor for the 2020/21 season. If you are interested in sponsoring him, please email debbieq@tranmererovers.co.uk now!
