Woolery joins Tranmere Rovers!

14 September 2020

Tranmere Rovers are pleased to announce the permanent signing of attacker Kaiyne Woolery.

The 25-year-old has agreed terms on a contract at Prenton Park and last season, he played an important role in helping Swindon Town win the Sky Bet League Two title.

The former Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers man made 39 appearances last season for the Robins and will link up with Mike Jackson's side ahead of this weekend's home game against Cheltenham Town.

Woolery said: "I’m really pleased the deal is sorted now. This is a place I’ve been meaning to come to for a while so I’m happy to finally be here.

“Tranmere is a very big club and obviously recently won back to back promotions. Last year’s relegation shouldn’t really have happened so hopefully I can come here and help us get another promotion.

“I spoke to the Gaffer he just said what he is wanting to achieve this season and I think you can see by some of the signings already that the squad is looking strong.

“I’m an explosive player, I’m quick and I like to play on the shoulder. I know a few of the lads already which always makes it easier to  settle in.

“Tranmere is always a tough place to come for the opposition so I’m looking forward to getting started now.

Manager Mike Jackson added: "It is a great signing for us, it has taken a lot of work to get it over the line. We are delighted to have him here now, he will bring some competition and some added attacking options we need in the team.

“It is the hardest part of the pitch, he will give us an opportunity to play in a certain way and he will add to what we already have as well.

“I think the fans will remember him well from his time at Forest Green, he ruined my summer that year. We know he is direct, he is pacey and he knows he needs to improve on areas of his game too which is great. It is always great to hear that from a player.

“He has achieved promotions in his career which is always good, when a player has promotions on his CV it means he must be doing something right as part of a team.”
