World Autism Awareness Day: Liam Feeney hosts video call with young TRFC fan, Lewis!

1 April 2021

Tranmere Rovers Football Club is proudly supporting World Autism Awareness Week (29th March-4th April).

Twelve year old football fanatic, Lewis, lives with Autism and one of his strongest passions is his love for Tranmere Rovers Football Club!

One of his favourite players is Liam Feeney, and to surprise Lewis, earlier this week the midfielder joined him on a Zoom call to answer questions and have a general chat.

Lewis asked Liam lots of intriguing questions, as they chatted at length about Tranmere Rovers, football and sports in general.

Feeney said: "It was great to chat to Lewis and answer some of his questions. It's always important to stay connected to the community but right now, it is more important than ever.

"If we as players can help in any way put a smile on their faces during a time like this and keep them engaged with the Club, then we are more than happy to play our part. It was brilliant to chat to Lewis and see how passionate he is about Tranmere Rovers."

Lewis' mum, Kaylie, added: "My son had a Zoom call with one of his favourite players and his reaction was priceless when Liam Feeney came on the screen.

"This Club go above and being and work so closely with the community, it is an absolute pleasure to support such a brilliant football team."
