Feeney looks ahead to Scunthorpe

8 April 2021

Liam Feeney says that Tranmere Rovers must take it “each game as it comes” ahead of their trip to Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Keith Hill’s men visit Glanford Park in Sky Bet League Two this weekend and are heading into the final seven fixtures of the campaign.

And previewing the away clash against the Iron, winger Feeney, who is on loan at Prenton Park from Blackpool, feels that Rovers can only look at their next game.

Feeney said: “We’re down to single digit games and they seem to become more important, but we don’t view it like that, we just view it as the next one and it’s another opportunity for us to take three points, starting on Saturday, so we just have to take each game as it comes because there’s not that many left now.

“It’s important for us to look after ourselves, and we can only really look after what we are doing so, we’ve got business to take care of and we have to make sure that we switch on.

“We have got motivation and we’ll take it out on the remaining games that we play , there’s no easy games but we have to use it to drive us on and get over the line in the next month.

“Winning games first and foremost are the most important things, and we know if we win our games, we’ll be there.

“We need to be at it and on the front foot the whole game, we are playing for something and we have to make sure that we do all we can to get it.

“We’ve always kicked on from small setbacks and there’s always been a reaction, and throughout the season we have done that with performances, and I think we’ll be okay.

“We expect to kick-on, we don’t fear anyone, and we’ll go toe-to-toe when we’re at it.”
