Hill looks ahead to Forest Green clash

29 April 2021

Keith Hill previewed this weekend’s Sky Bet League Two fixture away at Forest Green Rovers.

TRFC visit Nailsworth for their final away game of the season, which sees them come up against the Green Devils.

And Rovers boss Hill gave his pre-match thoughts heading into the contest to the local media.

Hill said: “You’ve always got to be prepared and we’re taking it each game as it comes. Obviously, our next game is Forest Green, and everyone is still fighting to get in those places, whether it be automatic promotion or getting into the play-offs, so it stimulates really good fixtures this weekend, we’ve got to take care of business, and we’re still in with a fighting chance of getting automatic promotion and that is the aim but if it’s the play-offs, we’ll take them as a second opportunity.

“You are pushing yourselves for a positive result which is three points, and it can change the picture and we are really looking forward to it. We are well prepared, and we are preparing ourselves to win a football match and our aim is to get three points against a very difficult opponent.

“We’ve had back-to-back wins and confidence is coming back to the players, so they are going to be able to express themselves.

“It’s a team effort to keep clean sheets and to score goals, and we’re hoping to fire more goals in the back of the net so we don’t fall victim and it could prove influential.

“We are fighting this weekend for the opportunity to go and get the three points. We have been solid, and we don’t want that to change.

“There’s no question that it will be a tough test. Forest Green have been top of the league and it’s about the form that they are in and the players that the manager has got at his disposal, and we’re well aware of the positives and negatives of what has happened throughout the course of the whole season for Forest Green.

“I want the players to express themselves and enjoy the game that they love so much. It’s important to a lot of people, the communities, the football club, the chairman and the board of directors and I’ll take a lot of pressure from the players, but when that whistle blows, they will remember what they are good at.

“We are back on track and I’m really looking forward to the weekend and I know that the players can express themselves.”
