Tranmere Rovers manager Keith Hill has previewed his side’s trip to Walsall in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday night.
Rovers return to action away at the Saddlers and are on the road for a second successive game following Saturday’s point against Scunthorpe United.
And Hill gave his thoughts ahead of the midweek clash at the Banks’s Stadium.
Hill said: “It’s a game that we’re excited about and what is at stake in this game, I think every one of the players who have signed for us and have been retained by the Club would have said these are the type of games that we want to play in.
“The players have been magnificent on the training pitch and we are really excited, we are upbeat and we’re looking forward to the challenges that Walsall present.
“We look at the season that we have played so far and we have been exceptional away from home, barring one or two results, Exeter and Cheltenham, but we are planning to be as equally successful in the remainder of the season, starting with Walsall.
“We are away from home, but we are excited about playing away from home and we want to get as many points as we possibly can.
“I thought our performance against Scunthorpe should have yielded three points and the only reason why we didn’t, it wasn’t because of the performance, it was because we didn’t prevail in putting our many opportunities into the back of the net and that’s something that we have to concentrate on and improve on if we want to dominate games.
“We have to make sure that we are clinical, and we have to be better in the opponents’ penalty area. I thought we were very good at keeping a clean sheet and we stopped Scunthorpe from creating too much.
“Games are won and lost in both boxes and it’s true, but we have to be better, and we certainly got into the final third and the players understand.”
