Keith Hill looking forward to Cambridge match

4 April 2021

Tranmere Rovers manager Keith Hill is looking forward to Easter Monday’s Sky Bet League Two home game, as leaders Cambridge United visit Prenton Park, kick-off 3pm.

Rovers return to their home ground for the clash with Mark Bonner’s U’s and Hill says that his squad are in good spirits and ready to go ahead of the clash.

Hill said: “It will be a tough game, all games are tough, and they are having a really good season. We have evaluated the Cheltenham game as a group of staff and players, we are all in good spirits, we are all confident and looking forward to the fixture.

“Cambridge are having a fantastic season, but we are too and we are in touching distance of the automatic promotion places. We’ve everything to play for and the players must focus on and enjoy the games that we have got left, and they need to be free of pressure, but we need to accept the positive pressure which is the expectation and desire to win.

“We must focus on what we can affect by action and that is the next game against Cambridge, and it is a game that we are looking forward to.

“I’m really respectful of this squad of players and what they have already achieved and delivered.

“We want to take a step forward and be on the front foot, and it comes from experiences and learning from those experiences and we’re hoping to use the players’ experience in the squad positively.

“I believe in this group of players as people and we have to remain focused in these situations and with good performances and good application, you do get positive results.”
