Lloyd on three points at Bradford

20 April 2021

Danny Lloyd hailed a “really big three points” after Tranmere Rovers recorded a 1-0 victory away at Bradford City in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday night.

Lloyd had a part to play in Rovers’ winner late in the first-half when he latched onto Joe Murphy’s throw to surge at the Bantams’ defence, with his cross deflecting off Paudie O’Connor for an own goal.

Keith Hill’s men professionally saw out the next 45 minutes to triumph at Valley Parade and secure the win.

Lloyd said: “It’s a really big three points with all the other results and it keeps us in there so we’ll fight to the end and that is that bit of luck that we have been missing over the course of the last 10 or eleven games, we have put the performances in and we’ve just not had the rub of the green but we did and we’re all made up and hopefully we can use this to kick on now.

“We controlled their threats really well throughout the game, and in the last 15 to 20 minutes the boys have seen the game out superbly and they’ve got some decent threats in their team and we have neutralised them very well.

“We are creating opportunities and we have created them in previous games, and I think that we need to be more clinical when we get in there and hopefully things will start to click for us again.

“We have to be confident that we can get back into the automatics, we have three big games and nine points available, and we need to turn our focus onto the game on Saturday and take it one game at a time, and that’s what we have all been doing.

“We are trying our best day in-day out to make it work for this football club and we all want to be back in League One and all them, lads are pulling in the right direction and it’s good to see day in-day out and everyone is galvanised as a football club to get behind each other for the last three games.

“We need to focus on these last three games as a football club and we just need to crack on and pull in the right direction.

“All the lads are together and it’s a massive thing to be involved in a promotion-chasing team and I think everyone is relishing the opportunity and we have got three big games and take each game as it comes.”
