Match winner Jay Spearing believes that Rovers showed that they were up for it from the very start of Saturday afternoon's triumph at home to Leyton Orient, as the side avenged a defeat at the hands of the visitors just two weeks earlier.
Spearing started off his interview with local media by expressing the difficulty of League Two but praised the desire and work rate of the team, which was a catalyst to the all-important three points earned on Saturday.
"We know this league is going to be tough, it's going to be different. Every game isn't going to be pretty but I think with our desire and work rate as a team and I think you've seen it right from the first minute to the last and the most important thing is three points."
There was a collector's item for those in attendance at Prenton Park on Saturday, a Jay Spearing goal! The midfielder spoke about the importance of his second goal of the season.
"It doesn't come around very often so you've got to enjoy it when it comes! Listen, it was a fantastic moment, Nathan had an operation yesterday, he's all good now, so this one is for him and like you said before three points is the main thing, so we've got to keep the run going."
Spearing also reflected on the cup clash away at Leyton Orient earlier this month and praised the reaction of the team since that game and their desire to get one back on their opponents.
"It was unacceptable down at Leyton Orient, we weren't good enough simply. Not good enough for this club, not good enough individually and not good enough as a unit as well. So, we took that on our chin, we're grown men, we have to take it on and I think we've seen a fantastic reaction since then.
"Coming into this game we knew that we owed them one and I think from the get-go we showed that we were up for it and we wanted to give them one back."
