Tranmere Rovers have celebrated another fantastic Super White Christmas with a party at Prenton Park!
The event held over the weekend was part of the exciting festive itinerary and a chance to give back to the local community. All children took part in a day of activities, received a ticket for the fixture, plus the chance to meet Father Christmas and go home with a gift bag from the Club.
We spoke with two attendees to find out how the festive events impact the community and bring joy this Christmas season.
“For me, personally it brings the community spirit, it’s a chance for the kids to have fun at Christmas after being in school and especially with Covid and the lockdowns. The kids can just go and be kids with their local team – that’s what they like.”
“It’s a great asset to the community and hopefully it’ll get a few more fans coming in as well”
“The pricing also is quite cheap for the children as well so for people on lower incomes, they have the ability to spend just 2 pounds for their child to come into a match.”
“It’s absolutely amazing, such a privilege to be asked by Tranmere to come along to these things. You don’t hear of Football Clubs doing things like this and for us it’s a case of ‘Kids we’ve been invited by a Football Club and it’s Tranmere and they’re like ‘yeah! Super White Army!’”
“Saying that we’re going pitchside you know it’s a once in a lifetime thing for the children to do. Thank you to Tranmere for organising this and I hope it continues because we’d definitely like to come again.”
