Tranmere Rovers in the Community have distributed 200 hampers, containing food and essentials as part of the Super White Christmas Appeal in its’ fifth year of festivities.
In partnership with the Tranmere Rovers Trust, the Club are able to provide for the underprivileged and isolated in our community this Christmas and we spoke with Jess Grundy, who has been deeply involved in the Appeal.
“Hopefully the Christmas hampers that we’ve packed will make Christmas a special time for the families that we will be delivering to.”
“We’ve tried to include lots of nice treats in the hampers and the families will also receive a £20 gift voucher for ASDA – this will be able to be used on fresh items, a Christmas Turkey or even Christmas presents as well.”
“We’ve had a lot of referrals from Tranmere fans also, who are referring fans or friends and family so they know of the Christmas Hamper scheme and the Super White Christmas Initiative – so it’s nice that everybody is still looking out for each other and doing what we can for each other during this time.”
“The Club plays a massive part in community activities all year round, especially during Christmas time and the Club have a really exciting schedule over the next few days. There will be Carol singing at Prenton Park, deliveries of hampers and they are inviting care leavers for Lunch on Christmas day as well as homeless people on Boxing day.”
“I think it’s really important that the Club play such a big role and it shows how supportive the Club is and what a community feel the Club has in the local area.”
