Feeney happy with sixth straight win

6 February 2021

Liam Feeney voiced his delight after Rovers picked up a sixth straight win in all competitions after victory over Port Vale at Prenton Park.

“We are really happy, it was a difficult game with the way that they played, they hit the ball into their target man and tried to work around that. We had to stand up to that challenge and we got the ball down when we had our opportunities and try and play through them.

“We had to play higher up the pitch at times but we did it well, we took our goals well and James Vaughan was on fire, but overall I felt it was a comfortable victory.

“It is going really well for us at the minute and the aim is for that to continue.”

Despite the absence of fans at Prenton Park, Feeney insists that the home form is a basis of consistency that the side need.

“We are trying to make Prenton Park as much as a fortress as possible, it is hard without the fans and we are missing them, but we are trying our best to make them proud.

“We have a really strong squad going into the final run of matches, and everyone is on their toes and players are ready to step in. We have positive competition for places and we are driving each other on to do well but it is great that we have so many good players.”
