MacDonald signs permanent contract at Tranmere

1 February 2021

Tranmere Rovers Football Club are delighted to announce the permanent signing of defender Calum MacDonald on an 18-month contract.

The forward thinking left back has played 24 times for Tranmere so far this season, and has completed the full 90 minutes in our last four league victories, including last weekend’s 1-0 victory at Morecambe.

The 23-year-old initially joined the Club on loan, but has now made his loan a permanent deal, and he was voted as Man of the Match in our last game.

Speaking about MacDonald’s contract turning into a permanent, manager Keith Hill said: “It is a great approach from the Club to protect our interests going forward by turning Calum’s loan deal into a permanent one.

“I have really enjoyed working with Calum so far, and he improves our opportunities of winning football matches, so I am delighted he has committed his future with us.

“We want to improve players and he has got the appetite to improve. Calum has the desire and the determination, and he is someone we want to continue to work with.

“We are really pleased that he is committed to what we want to achieve this season and, in the future, as well.”
