Callum McManaman is targeting a successful season with Tranmere Rovers after signing a one-year deal at Prenton Park.
The winger, who has played in the Premier League for Wigan Athletic, where he was named Man of the Match in their 2013 FA Cup final victory versus Manchester City, and West Bromwich Albion, was most recently at A-League club Melbourne Victory.
Having grown up in the local area, McManaman returns to Merseyside ahead of Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Rangers and he is “buzzing” to be part of Micky Mellon’s side.
McManaman said: "I’m buzzing to get sorted, I’ve been speaking to the Club over the last few weeks, and I can't wait to get going.
"The manager was brilliant when he rang me, we had a good conversation and he knew a lot about me, and I think that was one of the main reasons, he wants to get promoted and I want to be a part of that.
"I want to be trusted by the manager and I want to get promoted and be a part of this journey.
"Tranmere has got a massive fanbase and we deserve to be at a higher level so hopefully we can get promoted.
“I want to have a good season on a personal level and get promoted, and that’s the aim.
"I’m a team player so my main aim is to get promoted, get playing every week and enjoy it.”
McManaman is looking forward to playing in front of the SWA at a full-capacity Prenton Park.
He added: “I’m looking forward to the first few home games to see what the atmosphere is like because I’ve heard that the atmosphere is brilliant at Prenton Park."
