Nevitt ready to take the opportunity presented to him

9 July 2021

Elliott Nevitt admitted he can't wait to get going as a Tranmere Rovers player after he signed a permanent contract at the Club.

The forward most recently played for Warrington Rylands and scored a hat-trick at Wembley in May in their FA Vase Final 3-2 victory over Binfield.

And Nevitt is relishing the opportunity to pull on a TRFC shirt and show the SWA what he is all about, and take the opportunity in front of him with both hands.

“I’m so happy and I’m made up to be honest. I found out after Wembley, there were a few others, but Tranmere was the main one for me.

“I’ve always wanted to be a pro all of my life so now it’s just about working hard, getting as fit as the boys and doing what I can do.

“I’ve heard a lot about the fans, I’ve heard it means everything to the fans and they love hard work, so I’m going to do everything for them.

“Scoring a hat-trick at Wembley was the best feeling ever and I couldn’t even describe it, and it was crazy.

“I’ve played in non-league for about five years now. I played for City of Liverpool, played for Warrington Rylands and before that I was in college, and I went to the Dallas Cup and played there twice.”

Nevitt is hoping that he can push on at Tranmere following a fruitful spell in front of goal at non-league level.

He added: “Pre-season has been tough and each day, I’ve been getting better and surely I’ll be better in the next couple of weeks.

“The manager has told me that he knows it’s going to be hard, and he told me what I’m doing is perfect, and it will come.

“I’m a big number nine, I’m fast and strong and I score goals and I can't wait.”

Elliott is available to sponsor now ahead of the 2021/22 season. For further information, please email debbieq@tranmererovers.co.uk.
