Davies understands the task ahead after completing move to Prenton Park

9 June 2021

Rovers' new man Tom Davies knows exactly what it means to represent Tranmere after he completed his summer move to Prenton Park.

The experienced defender, who has tasted two promotions from League Two, is fully aware of the task ahead with the aim to achieve a third promotion at this level during the 2021/22 campaign.

He said: "As soon as I spoke to my agent and he had contact from Micky Mellon, I jumped at the chance.

"I have spoken to Micky a couple of times before and what he said really appealed to me. It is nice to come in and get the contract signed. Hopefully this will be a successful season for Tranmere Rovers.

"The first thing Micky got across when I spoke to him was that he wanted to bring success back to the Club. I know he has had it here before, obviously he is a manager who has had a lot of success and he wants me to help bring the good times back to the area.

"I have family who are Tranmere Rovers supporters, and they will be rooting for me as well. They are season ticket holders, so I know what this Club means to the local people, and I have seen it first-hand having played against Tranmere in the past.

"This is the type of football club I wanted to be involved with, I have played well supported teams before and it does help.

"I know what it takes to do well in this division and Micky has told me he wants to get the right people through the door with the right qualities because he wants promotion and that was the main point of the conversation.

"We all want to come together to achieve that this season."

Tom Davies is now available to sponsor ahead of the 2021/22 season, with a wide range of packages available for both businesses, supporters and the SWA2!
