Nathanial Knight-Percival admitted the temptation to work with Micky Mellon once again was too difficult to turn down.
The centre back, who has just won promotion with Morecambe from League Two, took the decision to take the next step of his career at Prenton Park, and faced Rovers less than three weeks ago in the Play-Off semi-finals, scoring for the Shrimps in the first leg.
But now, Knight Percival is a Tranmere player, and he can’t wait to link up with Mellon once again, as the pair achieved promotion together from League Two with Shrewsbury Town in 2015.
Knight-Percival said: “I am really happy to sign for Tranmere. It is really nice to be wanted by the gaffer who I have worked with before and I am really to be here.
“Micky signed me for Shrewsbury Town, and he is a really good guy to work with. I had two seasons with him, and he really knows his stuff, and he has always been honest, open and a good manager to work for.
“I am aware of the job that needs to be done now at Tranmere and how it needs to be done too. I am looking forward to the season starting.
“When I got the call from Micky and I know him really well, and he says certain things to you, you can’t turn down the opportunity to try and achieve these things again.
“Tranmere is a big club and there is a lot of good opportunity to move to the next level and it will be fantastic if we can achieve that.
“I remember being booed as the away team when we came out, but it was really nice to have fans back in the stadium. The Tranmere fans made a lot of noise that night and it was a really good atmosphere to play football.
“I am looking to achieve a third promotion from this league now with Tranmere. Winning promotion from any league is always difficult but it is all about being consistent, a good squad and staff too. I will bring a lot of desire to the team and a will to win.”
Knight-Percival is now available to sponsor for the 2021/22 season, with business, player and SWA2 packages now available.
