Tranmere to play host to SPL champions Rangers in pre-season friendly

28 June 2021

Tranmere Rovers will host SPL champions Rangers in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 10th July.

Rovers will welcome Steven Gerrard’s side to Prenton Park, kick-off 12pm, with the fixture marking Micky Mellon’s first game back in charge of the Club.

The Club can confirm only home supporters will be allowed to attend the match, and both Tranmere Rovers and Rangers kindly request no away supporters travel to the game.

Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, we will be operating on a reduced capacity of 3,400 spectators as we did for our Play-Off semi-final first leg against Morecambe in May.

Tickets for the friendly will be initially offered to supporters who were season ticket holders for the 2020/21 season and to those who have purchased a season ticket for the upcoming season. We will announce further details how to purchase tickets for the game shortly, including full information regarding hospitality and how to stream the match.

The stream will be a multi-camera operation with audio commentary provided.

Match sponsorship packages are also available, and for further details, please email

Further pre-season friendlies will be confirmed ahead of the 2021/22 campaign later this week.
