Keith Hill's reaction to win vs Exeter City

20 March 2021

Tranmere Rovers manager Keith Hill gave his assessment of today’s 2-1 victory against Exeter City

Tranmere sealed the win courtesy of two well placed penalties by attacking duo David Nugent and Danny Lloyd, and the manager was pleased to see his team secure the win after a busy week for the Club with three matches inside six days.

Speaking in his post-match press conference about the game, Hill said: “We played against an excellent side this afternoon. The week that we have had, emotionally, physically and mentally, it is a massive reward.

“I am exhausted after watching that game so I can only contemplate and admire the effort from the players, because they must be really tired.

“I thought we were excellent today after a positive point last Wednesday night. Exeter have scored the most goals in League Two, regardless of who ever gets promoted this season, they are a League One side.

“I am really pleased for both David Nugent and Danny Lloyd; they were two excellent penalties to help us secure the win.”

“This is a wonderful football club, a wonderful group of players. We’ve got a unity which is including the substitutes and players who aren’t even in the squad today. There is a unity and that is what is right about this team.”
