Ian Dawes said Tranmere are positive and in strong spirits ahead of Sunday's Sky Bet League Two play-off semi-final second-leg away at Morecambe.
Rovers face a quick turnaround from Thursday’s first clash between the two teams at Prenton Park, which Derek Adams’ Shrimps edged 2-1.
Dawes is ready for the fixture this weekend on the Lancashire coast as TRFC aim to overturn the narrow deficit, with the game to kick-off at 12:30pm.
Dawes said: “The lads are in a positive frame of mind and they know that we need to tweak a few areas, and they’ve got a positive mindset and are very confident going into Sunday’s game.
"They realise that it’s not going to be easy by any stretch, but we have to aim right and we are clear in ourselves about what we need to do and what’s required for the game and it’s up to us as a group to put that into play on Sunday.
“We’ve watched the game back a couple of times and we are clear what we need to tweak going into the game, and they are only minor tweaks. We just maybe need to get one or two more of the players in their pack and inside the box for crosses because we did get into that final third well, it was just that extra presence which we were lacking and that’s something that we need to look at.
“Morecambe will press us high up the pitch in the next game and we have got to be prepared for that, but we also need to be prepared for if they are exactly the same as what they were, we need to break them down and we need to know where the spaces are to create and where they are to land on things and score goals.
“We will freshen our memory. We know what we need to tweak, and we are ready and well prepared for Sunday.
“I don’t think the approach will change too much because we’ll approach the game in the same way, that we’re going to try to win the game on Sunday. The aim and the plan for the game hasn’t changed, we just have to be slightly better at the plan going into the game.
“The onus is on them now. They are the ones favourites for the tie, and we know that we have got to win there and take the game to them and we have got to make sure that we have that mindset and we’ve got to manage the next 90 minutes of the game.”
Dawes was pleased to see the SWA back inside Rovers’ home ground and hailed their “outstanding” support.
He added: “The fans were outstanding and the only thing that we as a group of players and staff are disappointed about is, although we did create a couple of little chances, which they defended with well and it didn’t fall for us, we just didn’t give our crowd enough to cheer about in goal-mouth action and we’re just a little bit disappointed in ourselves that we didn’t give them that in the second-half, but it was good to have them back.”
