Keith Hill's Colchester reaction

8 May 2021

Manager Keith Hill admitted a lot of things need to be improved on ahead of the Play-Offs.

Tranmere confirmed their spot in the top seven with a point against Colchester, and will now face Morecambe in the semi-finals.

Speaking after the match, the boss said: "It has been really difficult to get over the line even though we were chasing automatic promotion. Our form since Wembley has not been great and it has been difficult managing the squad of players.

"We have come together to seal our place in the Play-Offs and we now have another opportunity. We will face Morecambe in the semi-finals, but it has been difficult and I can't put my finger on why but since Wembley we have not been great individually or great as a team.

"It is good that there is enough about the group of players determination wise that we got the draw to ensure we reached the Play-Offs and we have a clean slate now going into the semi-finals.

"We are optmistic and it gives us an opportunity to get fresh as it has been difficult with the relentless schedule and training. We now have 12 days until the first leg and we will prepare ourselves to play a difficult opponent.

"We are pleased that we are in the Play-Offs but there are a lot of things that need to be improved. It is great that we can start that right now."
