Chris Merrie spoke of his joy to be in the starting 11 in his interview ahead of Saturday's meeting with Stevenage.
Merrie started his press conference by talking about his run in the team and what it means to him.
"Obviously I'm made up, it's frustrating for any player when you don't play. I'm just happy to be playing, it's not my strongest position but I'll do a job for the team and I'm enjoying it."
A player who is used to playing in midfield, Merrie explained how he's adapted to his new role at left-back and how his teammates have helped him to settle in his new position.
"For me it's been good because the players around me have got a lot experience, especially with someone like Clarkey next to me that's really helped.
"Everyone has been really good with me and like I said I've done ok up to now so hopefully it continues."
Merrie also offered an insight into what it's like being on the sidelines for the majority of the season he talked about the importance of training hard and said he's been ready for his chance.
"I'm not going to lie it's been tough, everyone wants to play. I've just tried to train as hard as I can and just try and keep my head (down). The main thing is we've got a strong squad so obviously it's difficult, there's a lot of good players in the team we all know that.
"I've just tried to keep my head down and just wait for my opportunity, I've been ready and waiting."
