Rovers boss Micky Mellon praised the team's performance in his post-match interview after goals from Josh Hawkes and Elliott Nevitt earned the SWA a vital victory in the race for the playoffs.
Micky started his interview by emphasising the fact that every game is a must-win for Rovers and insisted that the squad must keep their focus from now until the end of the season.
"Like I said the other day every game is a must-win, at Tranmere that's the expectation that's on us and we've just got to keep going. We understand that there will be ups and downs as the season comes towards its climax, but we know that we have to keep our focus, keep our heads down and keep trying to get the results so that's what we'll continue to do."
Micky also offered his overall assessment on Monday's encounter, he explained the changes he made to combat the threat of Exeter at the half-time break and praised the group for their all-round performance which was the catalyst to the SWA earning three points.
"I'll be honest, I thought we were a wee bit stretched at times in the first half, width-wise and from back to front. Once they came in at half-time we reorganised ourselves a little bit and shut the distances down, which they did terrifically well in the second half and made it much more difficult for Exeter because they do have an overload at the back against the way that we play.
"I felt that we tightened that up in the second half and when it did come into the areas we made the areas busy and we turned them over a lot. We protected Joe really, really well.
"It was a good all-round performance at an important time of the year and to score a couple of goals and get a clean sheet is obviously really important."
