#SWA2: Gem wins 2022 Easter programme competition

20 April 2022

Tranmere Rovers continue to be a club at the heart of the local community and are proud to continue their yearly successful Easter programme competition.

Aimed at supporters aged 12 and under who the Club call the #SWA2 – the next generation of fans, the competition saw hundreds of children enter with the chance to see their TRFC Easter-themed drawing on the front of our bank holiday weekend programme ahead of the clash with Exeter City.

This year’s colourful drawing was drawn by Gem, aged 10 who was invited Millie with her family for a surprise presentation at Prenton Park before, where Micky gifted a framed copy of the winning design to Gem and gave them a unique ground tour!

Speaking about the inspiration behind her design, Gem said:

“I wanted to make sure it was colourful and Tranmere related, so I drew an easter bunny with a plus sign and the Tranmere badge equals are heart but I drew the heart like an Easter egg and in Tranmere colours.”

“It felt great to win and for Micky to surprise me, I thought everyone was winding me up when they say I won”

We spoke to Gem’s mum who said:

“It’s great the Club do initiatives like this for the young ones, Gem comes the game every week so it’s been really good for her.”
