Micky Mellon insisted that Rovers must keep going and build on the momentum taken from Saturday's impressive victory at home to Gillingham.
Goals from Elliott Nevitt, Ethan Bristow and Josh Dacres-Cogley were enough to secure the SWA their first league victory of the season, in what was a scintillating display, but the boss was keen to not get carried away...
He gave his verdict on the result to local media, after full time at Prenton Park.
"I'm working from games gone by and working forward here with this group of players, so what it was about was building on the performances that we've already had and trying to find that consistency of what we've got and we've got to keep doing that now. That's not me being a killjoy, we've got to keep going. We have another game now on Tuesday.
"It's about finding that consistency like I keep speaking about, that competitiveness that I keep speaking about to the players. If you do that, you show that consistency of fight, because that's what's required, that competitiveness, then your ability will take care of itself.
"We know we've got that, but what was lacking in previous games, at times, was that fight and that competitive spirit that's required to play for Tranmere. Today we showed it for 90 odd minutes, so well done to the players for that. I always give you the truth and tell you how I feel, they deserve tonnes of credit today, I never say anything other than that. They deserve every pat on the back that's going to come there way for today's performance. But, I will be onto them next week and we've got to keep going, because that's the standards we need at this football club.
"I was pleased with the performance today and it was obviously a great result, a clean sheet and obviously scored goals, so it was a good all round performance, but only one game. We've got to keep going now."
