Rovers welcome 61 people in for annual Super White Christmas dinner

27 December 2022

Tranmere Rovers in the Community welcomed in 61 people who may have been homeless, lonely, vulnerable or in need of help for a Super White Christmas dinner on Boxing Day, with food, prizes, free Rovers shirts and tickets to the victory at home to Doncaster.

People from community groups such as Wirral Ways, Spider Project, and more as well as individuals who may have felt lonely or in need of support over Christmas were invited along for a Christmas dinner, as well as bingo and a raffle for free prizes.

The event was full of festive spirit with carol singers coming along, as well as Christmas karaoke.

Prizes donated by various community groups such as Heightsafe were given out during the games, with everyone leaving with a prize and all invited to take some food away with them before they attended the game with their free tickets and shirt.

Leon came along and said, “I’ve enjoyed it, it’s been great. Sitting down with different people. It’s been nice to get out and just enjoy it. I usually only get little portions to eat but coming here, it’s been a pleasure. Mixing with people of different cultures, disabilities, types, it’s a pleasure to see.”

We would like to say a special thanks to Jaydee Aquatics for donating mince pies for the event.

The event was part of Super White Christmas, in which we have been delivering over 150 food hampers to those struggling this festive period, as well as delivering toys to those less fortunate.
