TRIC host three local schools at Beechwood for workshop on peer pressure and county lines

12 December 2022

Tranmere Rovers in the Community hosted Year 6 children from Manor Primary, Bidston Village CE Primary and St Paul’s Primary Schools at Beechwood Recreation Centre last Friday for a football tournament and workshop to educate them about important topics such as peer pressure and role models.

Mixed gender groups of children from different backgrounds from the three schools attended the tournament to break down barriers and educate the participants about child criminal exploitation.

The children showed great determination and attitude during the football tournament, and contributed with some insightful points in the workshop regarding topics such as positive and negative influences on behaviour, signs of grooming and county lines, as well as exploring inspirational role models.

Community Engagement Officer, Liam French, said, “All three schools had a great attitude on the day. They listened incredibly well and gave out some insightful opinions during the peer pressure workshops.

“They also got to participate in a football tournament to round off the day which was an exciting watch.

“We are hoping that from this day, we can increase the work we do across the three schools and continue the education of such topics.”
