Memorial Game Itinerary

6 January 2022

This Saturday 8th January, Tranmere Rovers Football Club will hold their first ever memorial match. The first of what is to become an annual event, this weekend’s home fixture will mark the passing of those we have lost since January 1st, 2020.

On the day, supporters, friends and family members are encouraged to leave any flowers they want to lay in memory of a loved one at the Johnny King Statue.

Itinerary for the day:

2.15pm – Players warm up begins

2.45pm – Players warm up ends

2.45pm – Memorial wreath placed in the centre circle and service will begin

2.56pm – Players to lay flowers at the four stands

2.58pm – Minutes applause

3.00pm – Kick Off

We ask that attendees be seated 20 minutes before Kick Off if they would like to take part in the service.

The service will acknowledge the loss of our supporters and give others in the SWA an appropriate setting to show their respects. Moving forward, Tranmere Rovers will hold a memorial during a chosen fixture each season to celebrate the lives of those in the SWA who we have lost.

A special memorial game programme will be available to buy on the day and a digital version will be on sale on our Club Store Website
