Rovers striker Elliott Nevitt believes that the side showed exactly why they're second in the standings, after a mightily impressive display at home to Scunthorpe United.
Nevitt was on the scoresheet as Rovers made it six wins on the bounce and said that the group needed to put in a performance like they did to prove why they deserve to be in the automatic places.
"I think we needed a performance like that, especially with where we are in the league. We just wanted to show that we're not here because we don't deserve to be here, we're here because we deserve to be here. We wanted to put a big game in and prove that we should be here and hopefully, we can kick on now."
Nevitt also talked about the start of the game and the importance of the first goal.
"The way we started I thought if we get the first goal here we'll just keep going and I thought if we struggled to get the first goal it may drag on a bit. Once we got the first goal we just kept scoring! I thought we played really well."
Nevitt has been working as hard off the pitch as he has been on it, he offered an insight into his weight loss, something that he believes is benefitting his form on the pitch.
"Behind the scenes I've been working really hard, I think I've lost a stone and a half in two months since I've come here. It helps on the pitch, I can run more, do more and I just feel so much better."
Eliott also offered a quick glance ahead to Tuesday night's clash with Salford City.
"My first league goal was against them, it's a derby against a Manchester team so we want to go there and win as well."
Nevitt also praised the supporters, who have really taken to the attacker since his arrival. He talked about his love for getting on the scoresheet for them.
"I love it, especially when I score and score for them so I'm made up for them."
