Tranmere Rovers Football Club have pledged its support for the Hillsborough Law Now Campaign, which calls for a change to the legal system to prevent others facing the same miscarriage of justice suffered by the families of the 97.
The new law proposes to compel all public officials to be truthful at enquiries into public tragedies or disaster situations as well as offer bereaved families support for legal representation at inquests.
Chairman Mark Palios said: “This is not “virtue signalling”. This is part of the very essence of a mature democracy and a real need as demonstrated by the tortuous process that followed Hillsborough.”
