Jordan Turnbull signs for Tranmere!

26 July 2022

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Turnbull on a two year contract!

The defender joins Rovers after leaving Salford City and being voted into the 2021/22 League Two Team of the Season after an impressive campaign.

Jordan began his career at Southampton and had two loan spells at Swindon Town in League One where he was voted their Player of the Season whilst reaching the play off final.

He was then snapped up by Coventry City for an undisclosed fee and helped the Sky Blues to lift the EFL Trophy at Wembley Stadium.

In 2020, Jordan helped Northampton Town to promotion via the play offs and played an integral role in the Cobblers’ team that season, beating Exeter City 4-0 at Wembley.

Jordan most recently spent two years at Salford City where he became a fans favourite and a stalwart at the heart of the Ammies’ defence, again adding another EFL Trophy to his CV.

The 27 year old pens a deal at Prenton Park until at least the summer of 2024.

After joining the Club, Jordan said: “I’m over the moon. It’s happened quite quickly and I’m really excited to here.

“I had a chat with the manager and he’s really opened my eyes to how big of a club this is so I wanted to get it sorted as soon as possible.

“I’ve played here a few times, I’ve seen the stadium with a great fan base. The training facilities and the infrastructure is fantastic too.

“This is a really ambitious club with a really exciting group of players so I’m really excited about the project and I’m looking forward to getting going”

Manager Micky Mellon added: “We’re really pleased to complete the signing of Jordan and we can’t wait to start working with him.

“He’s played to a very good standard and achieved promotion from this level so he knows what it takes and we believe he will fit into the way we want to play this season.

“We know what he’s all about and the attributes that he can bring to the team so we’re excited to get him embedded into the group now”
