Rovers boss Micky Mellon offered his analysis on the Mansfield game to local media on Friday evening, simply stating it as a game the SWA had to win.
A late strike from Elliott Nevitt put a halt to a five-game winless streak for Rovers and the gaffer didn't play down the importance of the result.
"We had to win tonight, we understood that nothing else would have done for us. We had to win, we had to get ourselves going again.”
Micky also offered his reflections from the game and praised the spirit of the squad for ending their drought in his interview.
"I thought for the majority of the second half we were the better team, I really did. I thought we were excellent, we came out in the second half and really got after them and scored the goal.
"Then they piled forward like they would do when they were 2-1 down and they had a little bit of a spell and scored from a corner kick which was disappointing.
"But, we went again. We kept going and the spirit among them considering we haven't got the results together that we would have wanted over the last month really shows the character of the boys. A deserved victory.
