Defender Tom Davies believes that the two recent victories were crucial for Tranmere as the SWA managed to change their fortunes after a tough run of results.
Speaking to the local media Davies was happy to reflect on what proved to be a vital cluster of days for the squad, with some big fixtures providing some big results.
"It's massive, we all know that we were in a bit of a blip and we know that the games that we played this week were big, but at home especially we fancy ourselves against anyone, so it was nice to get two wins under the belt moving into a big week again."
It took a late winner from Elliott Nevitt against Mansfield Town last Friday to finally break the cycle and see Rovers return to winning ways, Tom believes this was an important goal and a catalyst for the group.
"You'd like to think so, you need a catalyst or a spark to change your fortunes and I feel like last Friday was a big moment, it gave us all a lift after a tough run and we're thankful to Nev for doing that and hopefully it will kickstart our season."
After ending their wait for three points on Friday, Rovers ended their wait for a clean sheet on Tuesday, ending a six-game wait in the process. Davies believes this is also a good omen for the squad and something to take into Saturday's clash.
"It's been nice. It's been a tough period for everyone really, we have conceded more goals than we have done previously but that's because we set such high standards from ourselves.
"We've just got to maintain that now, keep that sort of emphasis going and take it into Saturday, which is another big game."
