Andy Hodgen to leave role at the Club

22 November 2022

Tranmere Rovers can confirm that Head Fitness Coach Andy Hodgen will soon be leaving the Club and will take up a new role at Blackpool FC.

Andy, known to most people as ‘Hodgey’, joined the Club’s backroom staff in 2017 and has played a vital role behind the scenes in helping towards some of the Club’s most successful seasons in recent times.

Playing his part in back-to-back promotions and some memorable cup runs, Andy has been at the heart of Micky Mellon’s backroom staff for a number of years and has now decided that the time is right to move on to a new challenge.

Manager Micky Mellon commented: “Andy has been a big part of the team behind the team for many years now and has helped towards getting our players to their top level. I’ve worked with him for over ten years now so I know what a big miss he will be. We all wish him the best of luck in his next step.”

Mark Palios, the Club’s Chairman, said: “We are sad to see Andy go but thank him for his hard work and commitment during his time at the Club. He has been instrumental in developing the way we use sports science at the Club and we wish him every success in the future”.
