Doohan eyeing FA Cup progression

4 November 2022

Rovers’ goalkeeper Ross Doohan says that he sees this weekend’s game as a chance at ‘redemption’ when facing Carlisle United on Saturday, just seven days after facing them at Prenton Park.

Ahead of the trip up north, he sat down with the local media to face questions prior to the match.

“I think the whole squad is quite a young squad with a few experienced heads in it but I feel like it’s a good thing and we can beat quite fearless at times. We just need to keep doing what we’re doing and growing to get better.

“The games are coming thick and fast. There’s a lot of midweek games and a lot of physicality but I’m really enjoying it. I feel comfortable no matter who is in front of me. Jamo (Kyle Jameson) came in on Tuesday and did really well and I think it shows that we can adapt and play different formations.

“I feel the best is still to come from us. We know what we’re capable of and I feel we can really push on to show that. We’re pushing each other hard everyday to push on.

“The FA Cup is a great competition to play in so it would be nice to go on a cup run and it would be great for the team spirit too so we’re looking forward to it.

“It was a disappointing game against Carlisle on Saturday but this game is a good chance at redemption as such to put our performance last week right. Hopefully we can go out there and do that but we take each game as it comes an analyse each game separately no matter how close together they are.”
