St John’s Catholic Junior School win local Utilita Kids Cup final to reach Regional Final

11 November 2022

We held the local finals of our Utilita Kids Cup tournament at Co-op Academy Bebington yesterday, with St John’s Catholic Junior School defeating Lingham Primary School 3-1 in the final.

The team from St John’s will now go on to represent Tranmere Rovers in the Regional Final, which will be held at the stadium of one of the Northern teams in League Two, yet to be announced.

If they are successful in the Regional Final, they have the chance to go on and represent Tranmere in the National Final to be held at Wembley Stadium.

Over 40 local schools took part in the tournament, with St John’s prevailing as winners.

Each school were also given the chance to nominate a young journalist to write match reports on their team’s fixtures, with the winning journalist also having the chance to join the team at Wembley on press duties.

The local finals of the Utilita Girls’ Cup will be held next week, with the girls also having the chance to make it to the Regional Final.
