Tranmere Rovers in the Community helped deliver Wirral School Games’ fully-inclusive Inspire Futsal competition at Prenton Park Recreation Centre for children in Years 5 and 6 yesterday.
Children who may not have had the opportunity to play before were invited to the Futsal tournament, with 13 teams from local schools coming along to take part.
Poulton Lancelyn Primary, Lingham Primary, Brackenwood Junior School, Christ the King Catholic Primary, and St Michael & All Angels Catholic Primary all came along for the morning session.
The afternoon saw another eight schools in Bidston Avenue Primary, Gayton Primary, Well Lane Primary, St Peter’s CE Primary Heswall, Co-op Academy Portland, Ladymount Primary, Raeburn Primary, and Birkenhead Prep come and take part.
One teacher from Gayton Primary said it was ‘a great afternoon of self-belief, teamwork and fun’, with another from Co-op Academy Portland adding that their team had a ‘great time, demonstrating Wirral School Games values such as passion and self-belief in spades’.
The tournament linked in with projects TRIC have been consistently delivering in local schools such as our Premier League Primary Stars project.
