Tranmere Rovers defender Josh Dacres-Cogley faced questions from the local media on Thursday afternoon ahead of Friday night football at Prenton Park as Rovers take on Crewe Alexandra.
The 26 year-old admitted that the squad are ‘excited’ for each game recently after an impressive upturn in form with four league wins on the bounce.
“Everyone in the team is really excited to keep playing game at the moment. We want to keep getting three points and keep getting clean sheets.
“Something has just clicked for us and obviously we don’t want to change that, we want to keep that up and see how far we can take it. I think since the Salford game everyone has just gained a lot of confidence from that win and we’ve just carried that into the following games. We feel like we’re not going to concede at the moment so we’ve got to keep that mentality.
“We pride ourselves on doing that throughout the whole team. It starts from the strikers and goes right through to the goalkeeper who makes important saves so it’s a whole team effort.
“Every set of three points is important and you want to get as many of them as possible because if you can go on a big run then it can only put you in good stead for after Christmas time.
“I don’t look at the league table that much. I like to just focus on the games and getting the three points which get your closer to where you want to be.
“I’m expecting Crewe to be a good team. You can see from the way that they started the season that they can be a threat. I think we’ve got enough to deal with them especially at Prenton Park. I think we will put on a good performance.
“I’ve only really experienced Friday night football since being at Tranmere and it’s top draw. Everyone is excited to play the Friday night games under the lights, everyone is there to cheer you on and there’s nothing better.”
