To celebrate five years of Premier League Primary Stars, we have nominated Mrs Travers from Gayton Primary School as our Superstar after she showed great personal development during our PL Primary Stars programme.
Mrs Travers and her Year 6 class from last year engaged brilliantly in our PL Primary Stars programme and Playground Leaders project, enhancing their understanding of physical education.
Mrs Travers is also a keen Tranmere Rovers fan, and regularly attends games as well as encouraging the children she teaches to come along.
She was presented with an exclusive artwork by graphic designer and illustrator Zem Clarke, created to mark the fifth anniversary of Premier League Primary Stars.
First-team Rovers players Rhys Hughes and Chris Merrie went along to visit Gayton Primary School, taking part in a Q&A with classes from Year 3 and Year 6 before presenting Mrs Travers with the artwork as well as a photograph signed by the Rovers squad.
After receiving the award, Mrs Travers said: “The Primary Stars Programme has really helped to support our teachers with PE delivery but also our children in the sense of developing their understanding of PE, equality and diversity.
"The children have loved the sessions and enjoy engaging with all the coaches and being part of the Tranmere community.“
