Glatzel returns on loan!

1 September 2022

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce that Paul Glatzel has returned to the Club on a season long loan from Liverpool.

The forward became a fan favourite during his time at Prenton Park last campaign whilst on loan, scoring six times in 21 appearances.

His season was unfortunately cut short but Paul has since undergone his rehab with Liverpool and will join up with Rovers once again for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

After completing the loan deal, Paul said: “I’m delighted to be back and can’t wait to get going again. I loved my time here last season so it will be good to try and kick on from where I left off”

“I’ve looked out for the results ever since I went back to Liverpool last season so it will be good to get involved now and hopefully have an impact where I can.

“The staff, players and supporters were all great with me last season so I always felt I had some unfinished business here. I can’t wait to get going now”

Manager Micky Mellon added: “We’re really pleased to be able to bring Paul back on loan this season.

“We’re all aware of the qualities that Paul has and will add to the group. It was clear how much he developed whilst he was with us and the aim is to continue that whilst helping the Club move forward.

“It’s great to have relationships like we do with some of these clubs as it is beneficial for all parties in terms of the player’s development and also the Clubs involved."
