Tranmere Rovers Women deliver the perfect easter treat after an eight goal thriller this afternoon.

Ellie Doyle and Jade Collins’ first half openers were followed by goals from Katie Bowers Folan, Elisha Price, two from Amy Shannon and another goal a piece for Doyle and Collins as they secured all three points against Mossley Hill.

Rovers started the game on the front foot dominating possession and their first sight of goal came after Robinson won the ball back in her half and found Bowers Folan on the wing who played the ball back to Collins on the edge of the area and smashed the ball into the top right corner.

Bowers Folan laid the ball on a plate for Doyle who got Tranmere’s second after slotting the ball passed the keeper despite shouts from the home side for off side.

Tranmere were in total control of the game going into the second half.

Minutes into the second half, Jade Collins got her second and Rovers’ third after McRoberts skips passed her player, and passes the ball to Collins who fires the ball into the top left corner.

Ellie Doyle was awarded a free kick after being bought down and as she whips it into the box Price is there to head it home and extend Rovers’ lead to four.

Not stopping there, this time Price lays the ball off to Bowers Folan who controls the ball and smashes it into the bottom left corner past the keeper scoring number five of the afternoon.

Continuing to dominate possession and not taking their foot off the gas, Ellie Doyle beats her man and plays the ball across the bi-line to Amy Shannon who slots home Rovers’ sixth.

Another Doyle, Shannon combination for Tranmere’s seventh as Doyle lays the ball back to Shannon who finds herself with plenty of space in the area, takes a touch and hammers it home.

Ellie Doyle with her 10th goal of the season to round off the afternoon after being awarded a penalty in the closing stages of the game steps up and converts with ease.

An extremely dominant display by the girls in teal and all round solid performance as Tranmere take all three points back to the Wirral.
