Tranmere Rovers forward Harvey Saunders wants to earn three points for the SWA when Grimsby Town visit Prenton Park in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday afternoon.
Rovers return to the Wirral for their penultimate home game of the campaign as they aim to return to winning ways against Paul Hurst’s Mariners side who are a point and a place above Tranmere in the table.
And with Ian Dawes’ men preparing to go again after back-to-back away fixtures at Crawley Town and Rochdale, Saunders hopes to end the season on a high.
Saunders said: “It’s about personal pride now, we want to get as many points as you can. You come here for three points every week and that’s what we train for.
“The fans turn up every week and they deserve to start seeing some wins.
“We know it’s not been good enough recently and it’s how we bounce back, but we are going through a change of how we are playing, we know that and we’re addressing it.
“We’re going through a change of how we are playing and as I said, we’re showing signs of improvement since I’ve been at the club, and it’s just about cutting out the errors to win games.
“We’re trying to get everyone to contribute, players and coaches, that this is what we need to do better and how do we go about it, so we need to put that on the pitch.”
On a personal level, Saunders is pleased to be back amongst the goals in a Rovers shirt since his January arrival from Bristol Rovers, having scored twice in three games.
He added: “I’ve recently got a few goals and got my confidence back, so it’s all about finishing the season strongly and getting back to how I feel I should be playing.
“You want to score goals, and the fans have stuck with us. It’s a great place to be but hopefully the goals do start coming.”
