Luke Norris: "Bringing others into the game is what I take pride on"

18 August 2023

Luke Norris says he’s “starting to feel like himself” after overcoming an injury and enjoying a flying start to the season for Tranmere.

The Rovers forward was speaking to the press ahead of Salford City’s visit to Prenton Park on Saturday 19th August (3pm).

Norris has scored twice for the Club, firstly against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup first round before a goal and assist during the 3-0 win over Harrogate Town on Tuesday night.

“It’s been a good few weeks, I’m starting to feel like myself and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” said the 30-year-old.

“Anyone who watched the second half against MK Dons knows we should’ve won. I should’ve scored, we had loads of chances, Tuesday [v Harrogate] was everything we’ve been doing and it shows how good we can be.

“Scoring goals is what I’ve been brought in to do. I’m number nine, you’re going to be associated with scoring goals. I like holding it up as well, that old fashioned part of the game, bringing others into the game, that’s what I want to take pride in.

“This is a massive Club for the division, speaking with the staff and knowing some of the players, I jumped at the idea and I’m really glad with the decision I’ve made, and we need to try and get this Club up.”
