Tranmere midfielder Regan Hendry is “disappointed” but believes Rovers deserved more from their 2-1 defeat to Barrow on the opening day of the Sky Bet League Two season.
“I thought we were the better team for 70-80 minutes of the game, on the whole I thought we deserved at least a point but fair play to Barrow, they got the two goals,” the Scot said after the match.
“It just wasn’t our day today, and there will be days like that, it’s just all about staying together as a team and battling through it.
“The performance wasn’t perfect, it was good, I just feel like when we get in the final third, we need to show that cutting edge, myself included, but I feel like that’ll come with the amount of games we’re playing.
“I had a lot more freedom in my role today, I’m playing a little higher than I was last season. Wherever the ball is I want to be there and create things, I think it suits me.
“The fans can be disappointed, we are too, I just want them to stick with us as the performance was good and there will be more like that, hopefully we’ll be winning them soon.”
