Rovers to introduce disability identifiers on matchdays

1 August 2023

Tranmere Rovers Football Club are proud to announce the introduction of disability identifiers to enhance the matchday experience for fans with disabilities.

This initiative, introduced by our Supporter Liaison Officers and funded and supported by the Disabled Supporter Association, will be available free of charge for supporters to collect from The Club Store from Friday 4th August.

The new identifiers consist of two options: silicone wristbands and lanyards. Both options are designed to discreetly signal a fan's need for additional support during matchdays while maintaining their privacy.

The silicone wristbands are ideal for fans who prefer a more discreet way of requesting assistance. These wristbands can be easily shown to a steward or stadium staff when additional support is required. By using these wristbands, fans can feel more confident in seeking assistance while enjoying the match without drawing undue attention.

Additionally, lanyards will also be available for fans who feel more comfortable wearing visible identifiers. Worn during matchdays, the lanyards serve as a clear signal to staff that the fan may require extra support or accommodations. This initiative aims to make the matchday experience more accessible and inclusive for all Tranmere Rovers supporters.

Tranmere Rovers Football Club are committed to creating an inclusive environment and ensuring that every fan has the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of football matches to the fullest. By offering these disability identifiers, the club hopes to further foster a sense of belonging and support for its diverse fanbase.

The identifiers will be available for collection from the Tranmere Rovers Club Store, starting this Friday. Tranmere Rovers encourages all eligible supporters to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their matchday experience. They do not need to be returned and are for the fan’s use at every home game at Prenton Park.
