Tranmere Rovers Women to support The Martin Gallier Project during the 2023/24 season.

11 August 2023

Tranmere Rovers Women, a proud pillar of the local community, are delighted to announce The Martin Gallier Project logo will be proudly displayed on the back of the first team home shirt for the upcoming 2023/24 season, in a bid to help raise awareness for the charity whilst also offering support to the girls within the Club.

The partnership highlights the Club's commitment to supporting local charitable efforts and promoting the wellbeing of young girls within football.

The Martin Gallier Project, renowned for its unwavering dedication to mental health awareness and emotional support, aligns perfectly with Tranmere Rovers Women's mission to not only excel on the field but also to create a positive impact off the pitch. By showcasing The Martin Gallier Project's logo on their home shirts, Tranmere Rovers Women aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and create a platform for open conversations within the community.

One of the most exciting aspects of this partnership is its focus on providing support and training to all the young girls associated with the club. Tranmere Rovers Women is committed to utilising the resources and expertise of The Martin Gallier Project to empower the girls within the club, ensuring their holistic development both as athletes and as individuals. The collaboration will enable access to workshops, training sessions, and resources that promote mental resilience, self-confidence, and emotional wellbeing – all crucial aspects of personal growth.

Speaking about the partnership, Head of Women and Girls Football Development at Tranmere Rovers, Louise Edwards said:

"We are truly delighted to be joining hands with The Martin Gallier Project.

The charity means a lot to people within our Club and therefore it was important for us to showcase our support to the charity and those individuals by having the logo on the back of our shirts for the season whilst also promoting and raising awareness of the charity itself.

This partnership is a reflection of our shared values and a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young girls within our community. Football is not only about what happens on the pitch but also about fostering strong, resilient individuals who can face life's challenges head-on.

We are excited to embark on this journey with The Martin Gallier Project and look forward to the transformation it will bring to the lives of these young athletes."

Head of Events and Fundraising at The Martin Gallier Project, Adam Sidorn said:

“We’d like to thank Tranmere Rovers Women for the incredibly kind gesture of displaying our logo on the back of their shirts and for the opportunity to be a part of this great local club in this way. The community ethos and togetherness of the club match ours here at The Martin Gallier Project and we believe fully that this partnership will successfully promote suicide prevention in our area.

We’ll fully salute the efforts of everyone connected at the club for wanting to promote suicide prevention, the pathway to becoming a more knowledgeable football family whilst education and supporting the girls at the Club and untimely saving people’s lives through sport.”

This innovative partnership between Tranmere Rovers Women and The Martin Gallier Project marks a significant step forward in merging the realms of sports and mental health advocacy. By displaying The Martin Gallier Project's logo on their home shirts, Tranmere Rovers Women aims to inspire conversations, break down stigma, and promote emotional wellbeing for all, making a meaningful difference in the lives of the girls they mentor.
