Tranmere Rovers make the short journey to Salford City on Tuesday 26th December (3pm kick-off), backed by a large travelling support.
Over 1200 Rovers fans will fill the away end at the Peninsula Stadium, as Nigel Adkins’ side look to build on their 2-1 comeback win against Swindon Town on Saturday.
Tranmere fell behind against the Robins but secured the three points thanks to second half goals from Kieron Morris and Tom Davies. The victory was their fourth in succession in League Two at Prenton Park.
Salford overcame Rovers 4-3 in the reverse fixture back in August but are currently 21st in the division after a winless run stretching back to late October.
Boss Neil Wood will therefore be desperate for his side to get back to winning ways, although Rovers are unbeaten in their four previous away meetings with the Ammies.
Forward Kristian Dennis will be out for around a month with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the defeat to Walsall on 16th December.
A knee injury has also put defender Jéan Belehouan on the sidelines for the time being.

One to watch: Matt Smith
It was Callum Hendry who stole the headlines at Prenton Park back in August, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory for Salford. However, a knee injury suffered in September means the 26-year-old is unlikely to be available to face Rovers this time.
The Ammies have found the target without him, though. Matt Smith has produced an excellent attacking return this season, scoring 14 goals in 22 league matches.
The experienced forward signed up at the Peninsula Stadium in January 2022, after spells at the likes of Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, Bristol City, Fulham and Leeds United.
Head Coach: Neil Wood
40-year-old Salford head coach Neil Wood is currently in his first senior managerial post, previously coaching youth sides at Manchester United from 2014 to 2022.
In 2019, Wood was promoted to the role of Manchester United under-23 manager. In this role, he oversaw the first-team debuts of 17 academy players.
The Stretford-born boss replaced Gary Bowyer at Salford in May 2022.
Referee – Ben Toner
Assistant Referees – Callum Jones & Alan Clayton
Fourth Official – Richard Aspinall
Toner last officiated Rovers as a fourth official in our 2-0 league loss to AFC Wimbledon in November 2022.
